Musin’ with Susan 9/15/20 – Language +

This is a follow up to my “Musin’” a couple of weeks ago about calling anti-abortionists “pro-life.”

I’m sure most of you saw the survey from CBS showing a full 57% of Republicans think the number of U.S. deaths from coronavirus is “acceptable,” compared to 10% of Democrats.

This wasn’t a trick question or a complicated one. The survey asked very simply, “Are the number of U.S. deaths from coronavirus acceptable or not acceptable?”

Who ARE these people? I mean for real, who thinks 170,000+ deaths in our country is an acceptable number? I have no idea what percentage of Republicans still support that man, but I can guess every single one who finds the number 170,000 acceptable is one who supports and defends him. (And I wonder if they feel the same way with the number over 195,000 now.)

And here’s the deal. MANY Republicans are Republicans because of social “issues” like abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and what they like to call “The Second Amendment” (another incorrect use of language), with abortion leading the parade.

The inability of these people to lay any blame on that man ever, for anything, or to hold him responsible for what he says and does and how he acts is not just baffling; it’s downright dangerous.

I am so grateful for the Republicans in Sullivan County who have contacted me to tell me they’re voting for Biden. They give me hope.

And in the meantime, while we’re still battling for the soul of our country, please do everything you can to stop letting those people get away with using deceitful language.

“Family values.” “Entitlement programs.” “Pro life.” “Patriot” and “patriotic.”

What are others you can think of? Let’s get rid of them all!
